Part 2: Young People and Settlement
Working with young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.
This session is a standalone training, but it is suggested that participants complete Culturally Responsive Practice (Part 1) prior to registering for this training.
This half-day interactive professional development session covers the pre-migration experience of youth and factors impacting successful settlement, highlighting tools and strategies from the National Youth Settlement Framework.
Expected Learning Outcomes:
- Explore pre-migration and migration experiences of young people
- Build awareness of settlement experiences faced by newly arrived young migrants and refugees
- Identify factors that impact good settlement for young people
- Introduce the National Youth Settlement Framework
- Apply Good Practice Capabilities for effective work with young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.
