4Cs: Cultivating Creative Cultures with Communities 2024

The 4Cs (Cultivating Creative Cultures with Communities) recently celebrated its 18th annual showcase event in August and September of this year, to promote inclusion, respect and integrity. Originally established by Director and Founder Laitini Matautia-Ulugia, the student-led project allows young people to celebrate and freely express their heritage and culture on stage.

In collaboration with the 4Cs student leadership group, Bunjil Place, CMY’s Le Mana Pasifika Project, and several other community leaders and cultural mentors, this year’s showcase was held at Bunjil Place Theatre over the course of three Mondays (August 26th, September 2nd and September 9th

Students from schools across South East and North West of Melbourne took part in the 3 nights of performances and represented many cultural backgrounds.

Senior Pasifika Youth Worker for CMY’s Le Mana Pasifika Project, Sefita Rasolosolo was present each night and was very impressed with the performances the students put on this year:

“This year’s 4Cs nights were nothing short of incredible. Each night was a vibrant celebration of culture and diversity.”

“A particular highlight was seeing St Francis College join the event for the first time, representing the Melton Local Government Area, which brought even more cultural richness to the experience.”
