CMSport introduces some new faces – Junior Melo, who brings over a decade of experience in youth justice and community programs, and Sherry-Rose Watts, a purpose-driven entrepreneur passionate about social impact and diversity. Together, they aim to enhance CMSport’s mission of making sports accessible and inclusive for multicultural communities. Hear from them:
Junior Melo
No stranger to the challenges and rewards of working with diverse youth, I am bringing over a decade of experience in the youth sector, including impactful roles at Malmsbury and Parkville youth justice centres, as well as managing and delivering programs in the south east to empower young people and foster an equitable community.
During this transitional period, I would like to keep the CMSport program momentum and advocate to ensure that sports and recreational activities are accessible, welcoming, and safe for all, particularly for those from multicultural communities. I am happy to join the team and continue the CMSport efforts to transform the sports and recreation sector in line with the program and the organisation’s vision.
Sherry-Rose Watts
I’m a purpose driven entrepreneur, changemaker and public speaker. I’m passionate about sustainable community development, social enterprise, diversity and inclusion, women in leadership and the social, political and economic empowerment of women and girls worldwide.
A youth consultant at Culture Spring and new Project Officer with CMSport, I use my expertise to support organisations become more equitable and culturally safe across sectors. In addition to this, I’m an experienced MC, speaker and facilitator. In everything I do, I seek to challenge individuals and communities to become active collaborators for positive systems change. My vision is to one day lead innovative global social impact projects, collaborating with experts across diverse industries towards designing a more sustainable and equitable world.”
