Youth Arrivals to Victoria: 2020 – 2021
In the 2020/21 financial year, 1,147 young people aged 12 to 24 years were granted a permanent or provisional visa to settle in Victoria under Australia’s Migration Programme across the family, skilled and humanitarian streams. This represents a more than 75% reduction in settlers from the previous financial year due to the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.* Over one quarter (26%) of young people settling in Australia during this period settled in Victoria, with almost one in five (18%) settlers to Victoria aged 12-24 years.
