Cultural Competency Training for Organisations and Businesses

Training: Cultural Competency and Settlement

CMY offers in-depth training packages which explore the essential skills and knowledge required for effective work with young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.

The training modules are designed to be applicable across a broad range of sectors and for work with young people from any community. The training modules draw on CMY’s 25+ years of experience working with young people from diverse migrant and refugee backgrounds. Participants will improve their confidence and capacity to provide a culturally inclusive and responsive service for young people.

“The cultural competency training session facilitated by CMY for our volunteers was informative, relevant, thoughtful and engaging. The session was delivered with passion and will really help to ensure that all of our programs remain inclusive and sensitive towards all participants. Our leaders left the session motivated and inspired.” – James Vilinsky, Youth Leadership & Development Unit, YMCA

Training is suitable for case managers, youth workers, social workers, volunteers and other front line staff as well as managers. We can provide training for practitioners from a range of sectors including government, business, education, health, welfare, justice, and sports and recreation.
