CMY375 Maori / Pasifika & South Sudanese Lived Experience Mentor – Youth Justice Mentoring Project (closes 31 January 2025)
About the Role
Working closely with the Mentor Coordinator, the Lived Experience Mentor will play an important role in building positive relationships with program participants from Maori / Pasifika or South Sudanese communities. Also from within these communities, and acting as a positive role model with lived experience of the justice system, you will support young people with activities including goal setting, vocational activities, attendance at cultural events and activities, one to one sessions and appointment planning.
- Hours: approximately 4-10 hours per week
- Type: Casual role
- Hourly rate: (SCHADS Level 2) $41.76 per hour plus Super. Includes 25% loading.
- Location: Carlton

About the Role
The MY Education Project Officer is responsible for coordinating the delivery of an allocated portion of CMY’s
education projects. This role will focus primarily on the delivery the Refugee Education Support Program in a South-East Melbourne, but may also include the coordination of key Learning Beyond the Bell activities, Schools Standing Up to Racism, and/or other strategic education projects as allocated from the team work plan. · Fixed Term: until 17/02/2026

You will have
1. Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and project management:
– developing, brokering and implementing multi-stakeholder projects;
– communicating effectively with new and existing project partners, including conflict management and/or ensuring a collaborative approach;
2. Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present and write reports and project plans;
3. An understanding of the education sector, school systems and curriculum, particularly in relation to challenges for students and families from refugee and migrant backgrounds.
4. An understanding of Out-of-School-Hours Learning Support Programs and their role in supporting the educational needs of children and young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.
5. An ability to work both independently and within a team environment and collaborate effectively with peers across multiple regions

CMY383 Multicultural Youth Worker – CSG

About the Role
The Multicultural Youth Worker-CSG role will work directly with South Sudanese young people, their families and the wider community to ensure young people are connected and engaged with their families, education and employment opportunities. This position will focus largely on outreach and support for young people through a combination of short-term youth support, sport and recreation, and group work activities, referrals where appropriate and connecting young people to mentors and role models.
· Hours: 30.8 hours per week (FTE), Part Time
· Fixed Term: until 30/09/2025

3. Ability to build partnerships with organisations and create referral pathways so young people can access these services ;
4. A sound understanding of youth participation, community development principles and knowledge of support and community services; and
5. Demonstrated high-level written, verbal and interpersonal skills
